AN event in Wimborne is promising a spooktacular time for families this month.
Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck is holding a fundraising family fun day on Sunday, October 29, at the Allendale Centre.
Running from 10am until 2pm, organisers promise children’s games, activities and crafts.
Attractions are set to include a design a poster competition, with the winning poster used to display at the Wimborne office, a raffle, free Halloween fancy dress, a tombola, cake stall and refreshments.
Prizes in the raffle include a three-course meal for two at the Guildhall Tavern, a £20 Hall & Woodhouse voucher, book vouchers and more.
Katrina Ford, business development manager for Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck, said: “We wanted to hold a local event where families can come along for an hour or so and have some fun.
“At the same time, we also want to create awareness of what we do and the help that we can provide.”
She said now was an important time for the charity to fundraise, as the winter approaches.
“We are an independent charity and rely on grants and donations to fund our service,” Katrina added.
“As we enter into the winter months, unfortunately, more people will come to us for help and we want to be able to continue to provide that support.
“All donations, small or large are very welcome.”
