Walker rescued after being stranded on coast near Swanage

A WALKER who suffered a suspected broken ankle and was left stranded on the Dorset coast near Swanage was rescued on Saturday (March 2).

Firefighters from Swanage and Poole were sent to the scene, at Dancing Ledge, along with the Coastguard after reports at around 2.03pm a walker was unable to walk after injuring their ankle.

“Firefighters liaised with the coastguard, and brought the casualty across the muddy and slippery terrain to a safe location,” a Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“The casualty made their own arrangement to attend hospital.”
