THUNDERSTORMS and heavy rain are set to hit the south west – including Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset – on Tuesday morning.
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for the region as forecasters warn of potential damage to buildings due to “lightning strikes or strong and gusty winds”.
The warning is in place between 5am and noon on Tuesday (November 14).
A forecaster said: “A band of squally, thundery rain is likely to push quickly east across the warning area through Tuesday morning.”
Residents are being warned to prepare for poor driving conditions, as well as possible delays to public transport and possible short-term losses of power.
The warning comes just weeks after the south west was battered by Storm Ciarán.
