A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a number of incidents in Poole.
Dorset Police said officers investigating a series of offences in Princess Road have made an arrest.
It comes after at least 14 reports of suspected arsons, including several vehicle fires, between Friday, December 8 last year and Sunday, November 24, 2024.
A police spokesperson said a Poole man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on police bail as officers carry out further investigative work.
Sergeant Euan Douglas, of the Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We have been continuing to work with our partners in the local authority and fire service in response to this series of reported incidents and have been conducting additional patrols alongside our investigation.
“We have also been engaging regularly with the local community around this issue and would like to thank them for their support and assistance during our enquiries. We would continue to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.”
