CCTV appeal after minibus stolen from Melcombe Regis area

UPDATE: A second arrest has been made in the probe into a minibus theft in Melcombe Regis

A MAN fled when police tracked down a minibus which had been stolen from near Weymouth.

The vehicle was taken from an address in the Melcombe Regis area at around 11.15am on Sunday, September 22, reportedly by a man and a woman.

Dorset Police said officers attended and searched for the minibus, which came to a stop in Bradpole, near Bridport, at around noon.

A spokesperson said a man then made off from the scene.

A 33-year-old woman from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and driving offences. She was released on police bail while enquiries continue.

PC Jasper Beauchamp-Woodward, of Dorset Police, said: “Despite ongoing efforts, we have so far not been able to identify the man believed to be involved.

“I am now in a position to issue an image of the man and would ask anyone with information about his identity to please get in touch.”
