Man punched and kicked while on floor in Wareham takeaway attack

UPDATE: A man has come forward in connection with an alleged assault in Wareham.

The incident happened at around 10.25pm on Saturday, January 11, at Wareham Pizza and Kebab, off South Street.

“Following a CCTV appeal in relation to the incident, a man has come forward and is assisting officers with their investigation. No arrests have been made,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.


POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a person they would like to trace in connection with an alleged assault in a Wareham takeaway.

The incident allegedly occurred at around 10.25pm on Saturday, January 11, when a man was reportedly assaulted by an unknown attacker at Wareham Pizza and Kebab, off South Street.

“It was reported that the victim was punched and elbowed in the head, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“The unknown man reportedly continued to punch and kick the victim while he was on the floor.”

PC Paul Humber, of Dorset Police, said: “This was a nasty incident which we are continuing to investigate and I am appealing to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us.

“I have now obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to identify and I would ask anyone with information regarding his identity to please come forward.”
