No crime committed after boat taken from Poole “without owner’s permission”

FOUR men have been identified following a CCTV appeal after a boat was reportedly taken without permission in Poole – with officers saying no crime was committed.

Police confirmed the quartet have been traced after an appeal in connection with reports that between Monday, July 15, and Friday, August 2, four people took out a four-berth Regal 28 Express boat without permission.

The boat was docked in Cobbs Quay Marina, in Woodlands Avenue, and police initially said it was taken on a number of occasions without the owner’s consent.

“The owner also reported that they had been fraudulently charged £400 for the cost of fuel used to power the boat,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

Now, following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, four men have been identified and it was ascertained that no crime was committed, they added.
