Three more arrests as police crackdown on thefts from vehicles in Dorchester

10 PEOPLE have now been arrested as police investigate a series of thefts from vehicles across Dorchester.

Dorset Police said it has received numerous reports of theft from vehicles or attempted theft from vehicles in Dorchester and the surrounding area since September.

As part of its ongoing investigation, three more people have now been arrested.

A 31-year-old man from Yeovil in Somerset and a 36-year-old man from Dorchester were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle and fraud offences.

A 37-year-old woman from Dorchester was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and fraud offences.

PC Glen Caddy said: “We are continuing to investigate all of these matters and we want reassure local residents that we are taking appropriate action and all proportionate lines of enquiry are being covered.

“I would continue to urge vehicle owners to remain vigilant and report anyone seen acting suspiciously around vehicles to contact us immediately.

“We also strongly advise people to never leave valuables in their vehicles and ensure they are locked securely at all times.
