I got stuck in the traffic along with many, many others. My first thoughts are obviously with those involved in this terrible incident.
When I got turned around, the council staff were putting up diversion signs, so they knew about it. Many motorists like me had no idea it had happened, despite modern cars and tech. Why don’t the police heavily publicise the road closure to prevent lots of people, like me, inconveniencing local residents and everyone getting stuck for hours. Had I known, I would have delayed my journey.
