COASTGUARD teams battled strong winds and dangerous conditions as they scrambled to assist a woman who suffered an allergic reaction on Ballard Point in Swanage.
Teams from both Swanage and St Albans braved the poor conditions on Sunday afternoon (February 23) as they travelled to Ballard Point to offer their assistance.
“Weather conditions on the cliffs were difficult at the time, with strong winds and rain making treating the casualty difficult,” a coastguard spokesperson said.

Both an ambulance and the rescue helicopter from Lee on Solent were requested due to the severity of the medical situation, but paramedics who arrived on the scene confirmed the situation didn’t require the helicopter, which was then diverted to another incident.
“With the medical incident stabilised, the Coastguard teams assisted the ambulance crews in moving the casualty to the nearby ambulance,” a spokesperson added.
