Elections confirmed for Swanage

ELECTIONS are set to take place in Swanage next month to fill vacant seats on both Swanage Town Council and Dorset Council.

Two seats at Swanage Town Council are up for grabs following the death of the former Swanage Mayor Bill Trite (Swanage North) in May and the resignation of Debby Monkhouse (Swanage South).

Bill Trite’s seat at Dorset Council is now also vacant, which has triggered an election.

Elections for all three seats are set to take place between 7am and 10pm on Thursday, July 24, with the count taking place immediately after polls close.

Dorset Council said the election for a seat at the unitary authority is an important opportunity for residents to help shape the future of their community by electing a new representative.
