HAVE you ever thought of becoming a representative for your area? Well, now’s your chance.
All 82 seats at Dorset Council are up for election in May, with people being encouraged to stand.
Now, the council has announced several briefings for potential candidates and agents for the May 2 election.
People considering standing can find out more about standing – and the role of a councillor – at events on January 19 at 9.30am and May 2, at 5.30pm.
The briefings will cover key changes in the Election Act 2022, the election timetable, qualifications for standing as a candidate and submission of Nomination Papers.
Booking is essential, and people can attend in-person or virtually, by reserving a place online HERE.
The sessions will run in-person in the Council Chamber, at County Hall, Dorchester.
More information is also available on:
“There will be an opportunity at the end of the briefing for both in-person and remote attendees to ask any questions they may have that we have not covered in the presentation,” a spokesperson said.
