AN ANIMAL rescue centre near Wareham is launching a festive photography event for four-legged friends this year.
Not only can attendees receive a festive portrait of their four-legged friends, but this also provides an opportunity to raise money and support the animals at the rescue centre.
Organised by Margaret Green Animal Rescue, the event is taking place from 10am to 3pm this Sunday, December 8 at their Church Knowle Rehoming and Visitor Centre near Wareham.
There are two options to choose from: a £20 minimum donation will see a professional photograph taken of your dashing dog captured in the cosy cabin, and a 10 x 8 print will be available to take home on the day – or a £5 minimum donation will see a photo of your canine companion taken against a backdrop with a digital copy.
The rescue centre said the £20 option is proving popular and people should email comms@mgar.org.uk to book now. The £5 option does not require booking.
“As well as a selection of light refreshments, you’ll have the opportunity to meet some rescue residents, make a wish on the celebration Christmas tree and purchase tickets for a personalised artwork raffle or the charity’s grand draw – with a top prize of £1,000 cash to be won,” a Margaret Green Animal Rescue spokesperson said.
“Festive ‘Pho-dog-graphy’ is proudly sponsored by Equafleece this year, who is kindly covering the costs of the event to ensure every penny raised goes directly towards the rescue rehabilitation of vulnerable animals in need.
“No matter which photography option you choose, there is sure to be something for you at this feel-good event, and you’ll have the joy of knowing that all funds raised will make a direct impact on your local animal rescue charity.”
