How you can help send Christmas presents from Dorset around the world

A DORSET business has launched its annual appeal to help send Christmas presents to the less fortunate around the world.

Blandford based company Total Energy Services sends hundreds of boxes of gifts to young people around the globe as part of the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal – and they are accepting donations for 2024.

“Last year, we brought joy to more than 100 children in need around the world,” a spokesperson said.

“Help us spread more joy and love this Christmas.”

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal distributes gifts to young people affected by war, famine and poverty around the world.

Gift ideas include:

  • Toys – stuffed animals, dolls, slinky, toy cars, trucks, boats, musical items, small balls, interactive toys, plastic figures, dinosaurs, play doh, hair clips.
  • Hygiene items – hairbrush, flannel, toothbrush, soap, hair bands
  • Educational – pencils, notepads, pencil case, stampers, coloured pencils, paint set
  • Clothing- hats, gloves, mittens, leggings, socks, tops

People are asked not to pack toothpaste, lotions, liquids, food and war related items.

Donations should be dropped into the office in Blandford and organisers will sort, pack and send the shoebox off.

The office can be found at Total Energy Services Unit 1, Uplands Way, Blandford DT11 7UZ. The deadline for donations is October 31.
