Planning sought for Wimborne slip and slide that’s already open

A PLANNING application has been submitted for a slip and slide attraction near Wimborne – that is already open.

The Mega Slip and Slide – which sees people jump down an enormous water slide – is welcoming visitors at Mill Street, between Wimborne and Corfe Mullen.

However, a planning application dated July 21 has been submitted to Dorset Council for permission to temporarily use 1.13 hectares of agricultural land for the attraction.

The application said work on the site began on June 28 and includes details of the structure to support the slide.

For more details on the scheme, log on to www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk and search for application reference P/FUL/2023/04036.

The article implies they are trading without planning? Have you done any research at all or contacted them for comment? What a peculiar article to write with limited context.

I’ve visited the site with my children and they had a great time, what a shame local press hasn’t covered this in a light that befits the joy me and my children experienced!

      Hi Paula,

Thank you for your comment. In response we can tell you that yes, this has been researched. The article doesn’t condemn or attack the park, it is merely relating early facts of what is likely to become an ongoing story.

We always seek to support local events and attractions and are happy to give coverage to any new scheme that contributes to the rich life across the Blackmore Vale, especially events and pop-ups for families over the summer holidays.
