A PONY who found itself stuck in marshland was rescued by fire crews yesterday (March 2).

Fire station crews from Wareham, Swanage and Poole rallied to Rempstone Heath in the afternoon on Sunday to try and rescue the pony, which had gotten itself stuck.

Crews sedated the pony before attaching straps to it to enable them to pull it to safety.

A spokesperson for Swanage Fire Station said: “When we left the scene, he was upright but a bit wobbly!”
