A SOLD-out fundraising gala dinner in Poole raised £80,387 for charity.
350 people packed The Lighthouse in Poole for Forest Holme Hospice Charity’s Strictly Extravaganza Gala Dinner in January.
Ten amateur dancers, each with a personal connection to the hospice, took to the floor alongside professional partners, delivering jaw-dropping ballroom and Latin routines that embodied weeks of dedication and training under the expert guidance of championship pro dancer Oliver Beardmore.
Compère Paul Kinvig hosted the glamorous evening, which began with a champagne reception followed by a gala dinner and kicked off with a group dance featuring clinical staff from Forest Holme and Colten Care employees, culminated with the Strictly Come Dancing-inspired competition.
The esteemed judging panel included Jason Edwards, winner of Forest Holme’s inaugural Strictly Extravaganza in 2023, Alexandra Hixson, professional ballroom and Latin dance teacher and Maxwell Saban, international ballroom dancer and author, together bringing professional insight and expertise to the judging panel.

The glitterball trophy went to Tom Redman and his professional partner Diana Coojacar, whose high-energy jive captivated the audience and judges alike.
