A THIEF snatched a woman’s handbag from her shoulder as she made her down a Poole street.
Police are appealing for information after an incident in Mellstock Road, at the junction with Simmonds Close, at around 9.45am on Saturday (September 30).
The victim, a woman in her 70s – was walking when police said a man approached her from behind and took hold of her handbag strap, managing to snatch it from her arm.
The victim fell to the ground during the incident, but did not sustain any injuries.
The offender is described as white, aged in his 50s, five feet nine inches tall and of skinny build. He was wearing a dark-coloured zipped jacket, dark blue jeans, a pale T-shirt, dirty white trainers and a hat.
PC Brandon Waines, of Poole police, said: “Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any injuries in this incident.
“I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened to please come forward.
“Also, I would like to speak to anyone who recognises the man responsible from the description given.”
