Arrest after 14-year-old boy assaulted in Poole park

A MAN has been arrested in connection with incidents in Poole that left two people injured – including a 14-year-old boy.

The first incident unfolded at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 7, at the Turlin Moor Recreation Ground.

A 14-year-old boy was assaulted and sustained minor injuries, Dorset Police said.

“It was further reported that between 9pm and 10pm a man aged in his 50s was also assaulted at the location and that he sustained serious facial injuries,” a spokesperson added.

“Following enquiries by detectives from BCP CID, an 18-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

“He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

“Detectives are continuing to urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to come forward.”
