Arrest after alleged robbery at Currys in Dorchester

A MAN has been arrested in connection with a reported robbery at a shop in Dorchester.

The incident, at Currys in Weymouth Avenue, happened at around 2.15pm on Friday, May 3, when a person is alleged to have made threats to a staff member before taking a key fob from them.

“It was reported that the man then took several items of stock from the shelves before he left without paying,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“Following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, a 27-year-old man from Portsmouth in Hampshire was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

“He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.”
