Mercedes’ windows were smashed before ‘suspicious’ fire, say police

THE windows of a car in Poole were smashed before the vehicle caught fire, police said.

Officers are investigating a “suspicious vehicle fire” in Skinner Street, which was reported at around 10.10pm on Saturday night (January 18).

A Dorset Police spokesperson said “the windows of a vehicle in Skinner Street were smashed and it was reported that the car – a blue Mercedes – was on fire”.

The fire service attended and extinguished the fire, they added.

PC Hannah Hall, of Poole police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and we understand there were a number of people in the area at the time.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened or captured any relevant footage to please contact us.”
