BEACH Gardens in Swanage has once again been recognised as one of the best-maintained parks in the UK.
It was awarded the Green Flag Award which highlights well-managed parks in the country.
The awards have high standards in environmental management, community involvement, and visitor experience.
Beach Gardens, which has an outdoor bowling green, an 18-hole putting green and six tennis courts, was praised as being a “great example of a community asset”.
Judges said: “The gardening and management team should be congratulated on such a place people really wish to visit.
“Quite outstanding – all staff met on the day were very committed. The gardeners were knowledgeable and fully understood the value of Green Flag.
“Excellent to meet younger gardeners who had a good level of training.”
Swanage Town Council said the achievement reflects the dedication of its staff and the support from the local community.
A spokesperson said: “The judges praised our use of sustainable practices, including peat-free compost, drought-resistant planting, and rewilding initiatives that support biodiversity.
“The garden’s welcoming atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and strong community links – particularly through the bowls and tennis clubs – were also highlighted.”
