A MAJOR fundraiser for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance takes place this weekend.

On Saturday, September 23, the 5K Twilight Shift will see hundreds of folks put their best feet forward for a walk at Henstridge Airfield.

Online registration to take part is open until tomorrow (September 19), although entries will be accepted on the day.

The second Twilight Shift will see people running, jogging, or walking a 5K route around the airfield, the home of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance team.

Supporters can enter as an individual, a family, or a group, and can take part as a serious runner or simply to have fun and exercise – with some even donning fancy dress.

Emma Jones, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance fundraising manager, said: “We are so excited to be holding our fabulous 5K Twilight Shift again this year to raise funds for the charity.

“We were thrilled with the amount of people who came out to support the event last year and hope this year will be even better.

“As well as raising vital funds for our service, the event provides a fantastic opportunity for supporters to meet our crew and see ‘Peggy’, our AW169 helicopter up close.

“No matter your age or ability, it really is an amazing event for all of the family to enjoy. We can’t wait for next week and hope that you will join us for this special event.”

Entry costs £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
