CCTV appeal following robbery in Bournemouth

Officers are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify as part of an ongoing investigation into a robbery in Bournemouth.

At around 4am on Sunday 21 May 2023 the victim, a man aged in his 40s, was approached by another man as he left Bar So in Exeter Road and they walked together toward Pier Approach, at which point the offender punched the victim.

The victim attempted to get away but the man caught up with him and a struggle took place on the walkway between the Pavilion Car Park and Bath Road North Car Park. During this altercation, the man stole a quantity of cash from the victim’s shirt pocket before making off in the direction of Gervis Road.

The victim sustained an injury to his eye as a result of the incident.

Police Constable John Barron, of Bournemouth police, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this robbery and I am now in a position to release an image of a man we would like to identify as part of our investigation.

“I would urge anybody who recognises this individual, or who has any information relating to his identity, to please contact us.”
