Man, 21, due in court charged with driving offences in Christchurch

A 21-YEAR-OLD man is set to appear in court in connection with an incident that started in a town car park.

The man is charged with driving offences after police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Highcliffe Top car park at around 12.10am on Wednesday, July 19.

As officers entered the car park, it was alleged that the vehicle – a silver Renault Clio – made off at speed and failed to stop for officers.

A man has now been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 11, for offences of dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by a police constable, driving without valid insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
