A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Christchurch.
The incident, in the Barrack Road and Bargates area of the town, was reported to police at around 3.30am on Saturday, May 27.
Police said it was reported a woman in her 20s was walking in the area when she came across a man sitting on a bench.
It is reported she spoke to the man and was subsequently sexually assaulted.
Detectives have confirmed they arrested a 30-year-old man from Christchurch. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
