A MAN has been charged over a crash in Poole in which a woman was tragically killed.
The incident occurred at just after 9.45pm on December 12 last year on the A3049 between the Mannings Heath Roundabout and the Alderney Roundabouts.
It involved a black Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian and it was reported that the occupants of the Fiesta left the area, leaving the damaged vehicle at the scene, according to Dorset Police.
“Very sadly, the pedestrian – a woman aged in her 20s from Poole – was pronounced dead at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
“Following a detailed investigation by the traffic unit, and liaison with the Crown Prosecution Service, a 20-year-old man from Poole has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
“He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, December 16.”
A 19-year-old Poole man who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released from the investigation and will face no further police action.
