VOLUNTEERS are being urged to come forward to help disabled people in Swanage.
The Swanage Disabled Club meets each Monday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm at All Saints Church Hall, in Ulwell, to socialise.
Card games, dominoes, scrabble, chess and crafting all feature, with helpers welcome.
The group also has three vehicles; two 12+ seaters and one wheelchair plus two passengers, suitable for hospital appointments etc.
“We are very busy all the time either taking our members to our meetings, or the occasional outing, then in between, we provide transport for a lunch club, plus care homes,” a spokesperson said.
“All our trips are driven by specially-trained drivers because of the tail lifts and escorts and we would love to be able to have some more of both on our rosters.
“It would be such a great help to those who are already doing it, and spread the load for everyone.
“Please consider joining our friendly group and enjoy being a volunteer who is very much accepted and appreciated.”
