A WOMAN suffered ‘life-threatening’ injuries and remains in hospital after a crash in Dorchester.
The incident, on the A354 Monkton Hill, occurred at 10.47am on Friday morning (October 27) and involved a blue Citroen C1 and a DAF Trucks flatbed lorry.
Police attended the incident with the ambulance service and the driver of the Citroen – a woman aged in her 70s from the Dorchester area – was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Her condition is described as life-threatening and her family has been informed,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
The lorry driver was uninjured.
PC Calum Maton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into the collision and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“Finally, I know the road closure had a significant impact on motorists travelling in the area and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we safely dealt with the incident.”
