A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed over a crash which took the life of a young woman.
Lewis Clark, of Poole, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving when he appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, January 13.
He was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison, as well as being disqualified from driving for four years and 10 months.
At about 9.45pm on Sunday, December 12, 2021, a collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A3049 Canford Way involving a car and a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian – a 23-year-old woman from Poole – was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness described seeing the vehicle drive at excessive speed shortly before the collision.
Following detailed fast-time enquiries by police, Clark was arrested in connection with the incident in the early hours of December 13, 2021. He later admitted to being the driver of the car at the time of the collision.

They were racing Causing Death by dangerious Driving 1 year 5 – if under the influence -14 (they had been to a party) got the absolute minimum – sickening.
I have heard bad things about this road from quite a few people, This road from the start as far back as the Bakers Arms roundabout – A35 – A3049 – Canford way – Ringwood road, which is know by some as the race track should have both individual and cumulative speed camera’s put up with a number count to show how many speeders/dangerous drivers have been caught. 4 fatalities since 2017 numerous serious accidents see this web site – https: www. Crash map . co. uk. You only need to drive on it which I do most days to work to see how crazy people seem to drive on this stretch of road – if you’re driving at the speed limit you will be the slowest vehicle on the road especially approaching roundabouts its almost comical if it wasn’t so serious how on (A35) the approach to the roundabout at Creek Moor Shell service station about level with the park and ride car park there is a speed limit sign which says 40mph most go flying past it at 60 and only about 1 in every 30 drivers take any notice – have a speed camera above the sign – drivers caught wouldn’t be able to say they didn’t know what the speed limit was. Still I don’t suppose anything will be done. highways.highways@bcpcouncil.gov.uk wake up?
Example: A van driver who told police “I hope I killed someone” when he was arrested for causing the death of a teenager in a crash has been jailed for ten years. Luke Hawkes, 28, drove through a red traffic light at high speed, colliding with two vehicles and killing Bethany Branson, 19, on 18 November last year.: – Should have had his case heard in Dorset – would have only got 2.
