A BODY has been found in the search for missing Richard Smith, from Poole, police have confirmed.
The body was found at around 4.47pm on Sunday (March 17) in the Meyrick Park area of Bournemouth.
“While the body has yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of 57-year-old Richard, who was reported missing having last been seen in the Wallisdown area on Thursday, February 29,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
“Richard’s family has been informed.”
The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified, thy added.
Inspector Jon Sainsbury, of Dorset Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Richard’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“I would like to thank all those who have been involved in the search efforts for Richard over recent days, including volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).”
