You’ve hidden the eggs, made your bonnet, pinned the tail on the bunny, now how do you keep the kids entertained for the rest of the half-term holiday? Parents don’t panic! Here’s our rundown of the very best events across the area for kids of all ages.

Something a little bit Roar-some! Corfe Castle’s dragon is back again this easter, once equipped with the available maps, young explorers can search for clues in a fun trail. And yes of course there’s a chocolate prize at the end… But is it a dragon’s egg?!?

Swanage Pier
Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April

That sneaky Easter Bunny has gone into hiding on Swanage Pier (Yeah! Who knew? Turns out he likes to be beside the seaside!). Kids are invited to collect an activity sheet for the gatehouse, find the characters and then using their names, work out the rhyme. Take your completed sheet to the gift shop to earn a prize and be entered into the prize draw. Good luck!

Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April

Gather the tribe, head to the great outdoors and learn some fantastic new skills. A great way to get the kids away from their screens and back into nature with Easter themed bushcraft and foraging skills. Shelter building, camp crafts, fire lighting, cooking smores… There’s plenty to get stuck into and make family memories and if you do get lost in the woods, you can always eat the youngest!

(Before you write in to complain, we’re kidding… Eat the eldest, they have more meat on their bones).

Easter at Farmer Palmer’s

Wednesday 5th  –12th April

Look out! The Bandit Bunnies are on the loose! They’re rustling up eggs and stealing all the chocolate fun from Easter and the Farmer Palmer needs your help. Young helpers will be armed with water pistols, ready to go soak those pesky bandits. With tractor rides and all the usual brilliant fun, this is sure to be a great day out.

Shine 21
Tuesday 11th April

 

Organised by the fantastic folk at Shine21 (the Downs Syndrome Bubby Club), families will meet at 11am at the walled Garden, Moreton to set out on an Easter trail. Keep your eyes peeled there might be animals and even an appearance from the Easter Bunny. Bring a picnic or pop into the Dovecote Café for lunch before each child receives a rubber duck ready for an Easter Duck Race. Wellies and waterproofs are strongly recommended.
