A WOMAN in her 70s was taken to hospital after being hit by a car near Poole.
The incident, involving a silver Honda Jazz, happened at around 11.50am on Tuesday (February 20), on Lower Blandford Road in Broadstone.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are believed to be serious, Dorset Police said, while road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to attend.
PC Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of this collision and am keen to speak to any witnesses of the incident or manner of driving of the vehicle involved in the moments before it happened.
“Also, if you were driving in the area and have a dashcam fitted that has captured relevant footage, please contact Dorset Police.”
