Man in court after occupants assaulted during Poole burglary

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with a burglary in which occupants were threatened and assaulted.

The aggravated burglary took place in Chaddesley Glen, Poole, at around 1.43pm on Tuesday, February 21.

It was reported that two men forced their way into the property before threatening and assaulting the two occupants.

The victims did not sustain any serious injuries. Jewellery and watches were allegedly stolen.

Following enquiries, a 40-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm while committing a schedule one offence.

He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 16) and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, June 15.

A 40-year-old man from Hertfordshire was previously arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and a 31-year-old Bournemouth man who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. Both men remain on police bail.

Following enquiries, a 22-year-old Wareham woman has also now been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has also been released on police bail.
